About

Homesteads for Hope is a 501c3 non-profit Community Farm and Future Housing Village nestled on 55 acres along the wide waters of Historic Erie Canal in Rochester, NY. Founded by a mother and daughter team with a mission to support other families; our organization has truly evolved into a nurturing community where people of all abilities thrive, finding purpose and belonging in nature's classroom. We are committed to redefining the boundaries of inclusion, promoting a society where differences are celebrated and where each person is recognized for the valuable role they play at the Community Farm. Homesteads for Hope offers classes for adults 18+ seeking to grow their unique ability and purpose in nature’s classroom. Our hands-on approach allows participants to experience all that a real, working agritourism center has to offer. Participants can and will grow their skills and knowledge on the farm and through our enterprise models. This includes learning in the greenhouses, gardens, and fields, training in our store, and learning how to support inclusive community events. New in 2024, we offer an array of experiences making marketable products, and cooking in our teaching kitchen. The goal of our programs is to grow what we CAN do, and stretch our abilities and perspectives of ourselves. Those enrolled in our class sessions are learning skills to increase their independence and confidence in an inclusive and compassionate environment.
