About

UCP of Long Island's mission is to provide life skills training, education, advocacy, meaningful employment and a place to call home for students with a wide range of disabilities. Over 65 percent of the individuals we serve today have disabilities other than cerebral palsy. Additionally, UCPLI has The Partners for Transition program. It is a grant-funded program that offers free services to individuals, families, and organizations regarding obtaining OPWDD services. We provide free vocational evaluations and service coordination to help people become prepared and to provide support throughout the OPWDD application process; from beginning to end, regardless of which part of the process you are in. We also provide free educational presentations and workshops regarding OPWDD applications and its benefits
